2) Ace Hardware sells cartons of wrenches ($100) and hammers ($300). Howard ordered 40 cartons of wrenches and hammers for $8,400.00. How many cartons of each are in the order?

1.5x= 1st shift
x+1.5x=5600
2.5x=5600
2nd shift=x=2240
1st shift=1.5x=3360

40-18=22 hammers
