You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Is the ordered pair (0,5) a solution of the system of linear equations x+y=5, -5x+2y=10? yes or no
----------------
Substitute the values for x and y:
x + y = 5
at (0,5): 0 + 5 =? 5
5 = 5, so it is a solution
---------------
-5x + 2y = 10
At (0,5): -5*0 + 2*5 =? 10
10 = 10, so it is a solution
----------------
The point is on both lines, or fits both equations, so that's the solution of the system.
