Question 200993: Hello,
I need some help with factoring. I have a problem and I am not sure that I am doing it right. Any help will be appreciated on the following problem:
Factor completely: x^3 - 2x^2 + 6x - 12
I have done the following on this problem but it does not seem right.
x(x+2) + 6(x-2)
x^2 + 2x + 6x - 12
This does not seem right, can someone please help me.
Thank you in advance for your help. Answer by stanbon(75887) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! Factor completely: x^3 - 2x^2 + 6x - 12
--------------------
= x^2(x-2) + 6(x-2)
---
= (x-2)(x^2+6)
