The number of girls times 2 legs per girl, plus
The number of girls times the number of backpacks per girl times the number of big cats per backpack (save this intermediate result here) times 4 legs per cat, plus
The number of big cats (from the intermediate calculation above) times the number of little cats per big cat times 4 legs per cat.
Unless, of course, you have some 3-legged cats in the mix, in which case all bets are off. Also, it is really impossible to answer this question because, given all of those cats, it is virtually certain that there will be some number of fleas inhabiting those cats at 6 legs each (ignoring accident and mutations); and you have no idea how many fleas that might be. Furthermore, if any of the girls are wearing pants, each of them would have 4 legs, the two that are part of their bodies, and the two pant legs. A girl wearing panti-hose under her jeans would have 6 legs...
