You can put this solution on YOUR website!
If problem is really, 6y +2y < or = -16
.
8y < or = -16
.
y< or = -2
.
Graph is a solid horizontal line at y= -2, area of concern is below line( crosshatch)
.
.
IF however, the problem is,,6x +2y <= -16
.
Calc points in T Box
.
X,,,,,,,,Y
0,,,,,,,,-8
-2.67,,,,0
.
Plot a solid line thru these points
.
To define the area of concern , use a test point (0,0) on eqn,,,0,<= -16,, not true therefore
area of concern is on other side of line, that is to the left of line, (crosshatch)

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
6y%2B2y%3C=-16 Start with the given inequality.

8y%3C=-16 Combine like terms on the left side.

y%3C=%28-16%29%2F%288%29 Divide both sides by 8 to isolate y.

y%3C=-2 Reduce.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Answer:

So the solution is y%3C=-2

So the answer in set-builder notation is

Here's the graph of the solution set

Take note that there is an CLOSED circle at the endpoint.
