If 40% of total are men ,,,,then,, 60% are women
.
if 30 % of men attend, then .3 * .4 = .12 of total attend
.
If 20 % of women attend, then .2 * .6 = .12 of total attend
.
Total attendance is .12 +.12 = .24 or 24% of total

40 % are men ,,,,.4 * 100 =40,,of them 30% attend,,40 * .3 =12 men attend
60 % are women = .6 *100 = 60,,,of them 20% attend,, 60 * .20 = 12 women

and
.6t = women

Let x = per cent of all employees
:
% men + % women = % total go to night school
.3(.4t) + .2(.6t) = xt

Divide equation by t
.24 = x
