You can put this solution on YOUR website!
The second of two numbers is 5 more than twice the first. The sum of the numbers is 44. How do you solve this problem in an equation?
-------------------
x = 1st number
2x+5 = 2nd number (5 more than twice the first)
------- Add them
3x+5 = 44
3x = 39
x = 13 (1st number)
31 = 2nd number
