You can put this solution on YOUR website!
2. True or false: The function "f(x) = 4x" grows four times faster than the function "g(x) = x". Explain
-----------------
It grows 4 times as fast, which is 3 times faster.
Its slope if 4, vs 1 for g(x).
For each unit increment of x, f(x) increases 4 units, while g(x) increases 1 unit.
--------------
4 times faster is not the same as four times as fast. Suppose it's 1 time faster? Is that the same rate? If so, then why is it called faster?
It's gibberish, which is prevalent on TV, in language, and now in textbooks.
