x^2+(x+1.6)^2=8^2
x^2+x^2+3.2x+2.56=64
2x^2+3.2x+2.56-64=0
2x^2+3.2x-61.44=0
2(x^2+1.6x-30.72)=0
(x-4.8)(x+6.4)=0
x-4.8=0
x=4.8 ans. for the width of the rectangle.
4.8+1.6=6.4 ans. for the length.
