The slope of your line is number 2. When you see 2x think of a 1 under the problem. The number with your x will always be your slope. If you had a fraction of 1/2 then your slope would be 1/2. In the case of only having a slope of 2 you would go up two numbers from your point and over one which makes your second point. Example: point (3,1) your next point would be up two and over one. This would bring your point to (5,2).
