You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Since "The price if a magazine subscription rose 5% this year" and "the subscription now cost $21.00", this means that x%2B0.05x=21

x%2B0.05x=21 Start with the given equation.

1.05x=21 Combine like terms.

x=21%2F1.05 Divide both sides by 1.05

x=20 Divide

So it cost $20 last year.
