Stoves sell for $200, refrigerators for $300, and air conditioners for $350, and sales are expected to be $76000. You can put this solution on YOUR website! With summer approaching, the number of air conditioners sold is expected to be doubled that of stoves and refrigerators combined.
a = 2(s + r)
--------------------
Stoves sell for $200, refrigerators for $300, and air conditioners for $350, and sales are expected to be $76000.
200s + 300r + 350a = 76000
--------------------
If stoves and refrigerators sell in equal numbers,
s = r
-------------------
System:
s - r + 0 = 0
2s + 2r - a = 0
200s + 300r + 350a = 76000
-------------------------------
Solve the system by any method you know to get:
s = 40 (# of stoves to be stocked)
r = 40 (# of refrigerators to be stocked)
a = 160 (# of air conditioners to be stocked)
