You can put this solution on YOUR website!
A forty gallons of gas is required to travel 400 miles using a 1200 CC engine. If the capacity of the engine is directly varying with the volume of gas, then how many gallons of gas required to travel 600 miles using 1500 CC engine ?
----------------------
gas required and miles are directly related.
gas and engine capacity are directly related
---
Gas = k[miles*capacity]
Solve for k:
40 = k[400*1200]
k = 1/12000
--------
Equation:
Gas =(1/12000)[miles*capacity]
Gas = (1/12000)[600*1500]
Gas = 75 gallons
