You can put this solution on YOUR website!
how many liters of a 10% saline solution must be added to 4 liters of a 40% saline solution to obtain a 15% saline solution?
--------------------------------------------------
Equation:
saline + saline = saline
0.10x + 0.40*4 = 0.15(x+4)
Multiply thru by 100 to get:
10x + 40*4 = 15x + 15*4
-5x = -25*4
x = 20 liters (amt. of 10% solution that must be added)
