1] In a weight ;ifting competition,the total weight of Joe's tow lifts was 750 pounds.If twice the weight of his first lift was 300 pounds more than the weight of his second lift,what was the weight ,in pounds,of his first lift ?

You can put this solution on YOUR website! In a weight ;ifting competition,the total weight of Joe's tow lifts was 750 pounds.If twice the weight of his first lift was 300 pounds more than the weight of his second lift,what was the weight ,in pounds,of his first lift ?

F = S + 300 (first = second + 300)
F+S = 750
Sub for F
(S+300) + S = 750
2S + 300 = 750
2S = 450
S = 225 2nd
F = 525 1st
