You can put this solution on YOUR website!
A purse contains 30 coins, all either quarters or dimes. The total value of the coins is greater then $5.20. At least how many of the coins are quarters? At least how many are dimes?
----
Equations:
Let x be the number of quarters.
Then 30-x is the number of dimes.
--------------------------------------------
Equation:
Value Equation: 25x + 10(30-x) = 520 cents
25x + 300 - 10x = 520
15x = 220
x > 14 2/3 (number of quarter)
30-x = 30-14 2/3 > 15 1/3 (number of dimes)
