You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Let x=Juan's income
Then x-0.40x=Tim's income
And (x-0.40x)+0.60(x-0.40x)=Mary's income---simplifying, we get
x-0.40x+0.60x-0.24x=
1.60x-0.64x=0.96x
Or Mary's income is 96% of Juan's income
