Yes you can, however it is important to simplify the equation.
7x%2B2y=-5
2y=-5-7x Just subtracted both sides by 7x.
y=%28-5-7x%29%2F2 Just divided both sides by 2.
Now if you jumble around the equation a little, it begins to look a lot like y=mx%2Bb
Y=-3.5X-2.5
