Let d = the one-way distance to the cemetary in miles
If d+=+r%2At, then
t+=+d%2Fr
d%2F8+%2B+d%2F6+=+7
Multiply both sides by 48
6d+%2B+8d+=+7%2A48
14d+=+336
d+=+24
It is 24 miles to the cemetary

t = d/r (time = distance/rate)
The distance to and from the cemetery (no a in cemetery) is obviously the same.
7 = d/8 + d/6
Multiply by 48
336 = 6d + 8d = 14d
d = 24 miles
