You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Two boys are on opposite sides of a tower.They sight the top of the tower at
33 degree's and 24 degree angles of elevation respectively.
If the height of the tower is 100 m, find the distance between the two boys.
:
Solve two right triangles
Use the the tangent of 33 degree,
find side adjacent (s) (distance from the tower); side opposite = 100
tan(33) = 100%2Fs
.6494 = 100%2Fs
s = 100%2F.6494
s = 153.98 ~ 154 meters
and
tan(24) = 100%2Fs
.4452 = 100%2Fs
s = 100%2F.4452
s = 224.6
:
Assuming there is no thickness to the tower: 154 + 224.6 = 378.6 meters apart
