You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Solve:
3x+=+%28x%2F2%29+-+10 Multiply through by 2 to clear the fraction.
6x+=+x+-+20 Subtract x from both sides of the equation.
5x+=+-20 Divide both sides by 5.
x+=+-4

not sure if this is supposed to be 3x=%28x%2F2%29-10 written as 3x=(x/2)-10
or 3x=x%2F%282-10%29 written as 3x=x/(2-10)
either way the first thing to do is get rid of the fraction by using inverse operations rules and applying them to the denominator.
3x=%28x%2F2%29-10 becomes 2%283x%29=2%28x%2F2%29-10%282%29 [when you multiply by the denominator (2)] which becomes 6x=x-20 {when you distribute the (2)] which becomes 5x=-20 [when you subtract x from each side] which gives the solution x=-4 [when you divide each side by 5]
If you do not understand any of these steps, review the chapter on inverse operations in your textbook.
Hope this helps!
