 [1] By selling 12 oranges for a rupee,a man loses 20%.How many for a rupee should he sell to gain 20% ?

You can put this solution on YOUR website! 1 R = .8x,  that  is  at  1  r  he  loses  20%  (1-.2),,,,Let  x =  breakeven  price .
 x= 1/.8 = 1.25,  that  is  if  he  sells  at  1.25  he  breaks  even
 .
 Unit  price  is  12 / 1.25 R = 9.6  per  R ,,,,(break  even  price)
 .
 To  gain  20 % , he  should  sell  at  1.25 * 1.2 = 1.5 R
 .
 Unit  price  is  12 / 1.5 = 8.0  per  R  ,,,,20%  profit
 .
 checking
 1.25 *.8 = 1.0 ,,,,,original  20 % loss  ,,ok
 .
 1.25 * 1.2 = 1.5 ,,,,final  20  %  profit  ,,ok
