There are 36 inches in a yard. Since for the same distance, you are going to have a larger number of inches than yards, you should multiply:

It says perform the following unit conversions.

[(15/4)yd] * [36 in/1 yd]
Note: 36 in / 1 yd is the "unit converter" in this case.
It converts yds to inches.

= [(15*36)/(4*1)] in
= 15*9 in
= 135 inches
