what happened to the z?

factors of -8 have to "combine" with factors of 15, to result in -2

two factors of -8 ___ -4,2

two factors of 15 ___ 3,5

3 times -4 is -12 ___ 5 times 2 is 10 ___ -12 plus 10 is -2

(3z+2)(5z-4) are the factors
