write the equation log 243 81 = 4/5 in exponential form.
log%28243%2C81%29+=+4%2F5
That means that
243%5E%284%2F5%29+=+81
It's some big numbers, and a fractional exponent which makes it less clear.
I'll give some other examples:
log%282%2C8%29+=+3
The base is 2, so 2 is raised to some power. That power is the exponent of 2 that gives 8, that is, 2^3 = 8.
So, the log of 8, base 2, is 3.
