You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Let x=cost of a sandwich
x-80=cost of a cup of tea ("a cup of tea cost 80p less than a sandwich")
.
Together the cost 220p, so:
x + (x-80) = 220
2x-80=220
2x=220+80
2x=300
x=300/2
x=150
So the sandwich costs 150p and the cup of tea costs 80p (150-80)
