1) Solve by factoring:
x^2 - 9x = -20
2) Solve using the quadratic formula:
3x^2 - 2x = 15x - 10
3) Solve using the quadratic formula:
x^2 - 3x - 23 = 5

1) Solve by factoring:
x^2 - 9x = -20
x^2 - 9x + 20 = 0
(x-5)(x-4) = 0
x = 5 or x = 4

2) Solve using the quadratic formula:
3x^2 - 2x = 15x - 10
3x^2 -17x + 10 = 0
x = [17 +/- sqrt(17^2 - 4*3*10)]/6
x = [17 +/- sqrt(169)]/6
x = [17 +/- 13] 6
x = 5 or x = 2/3

3) Solve using the quadratic formula:
x^2 - 3x - 23 = 5

(x-5)(x-4)=0
x-5=0
x=5 ans.
x-4=0
x=4 ans.

3x^2-2x-15x+10=0
3x^2-17x+10=0

x=(17+-sqrt[-17^2-4*3*10])/2*3
x=(17+-sqrt[289-120])/6
x=(17+-sqrt169)/6
x=(17+-13}/6
x=(17+13)/6
x=30/6
x=5 ans.
x=(17-13)/6
x=4/6
x=2/3 or .6667 ans.

x^2 - 3x - 23 = 5
