the domain is all reals except 7 and -2. This would make the denominator equal to zero. the denominator cannot be zero or equation is undefined

(5x+1)/ (x^2+5x-14)
(5x+1) / ( (x+7) (x-2) )
therefore Domain is all Real numbers except, x=(-7) and x=(2)
