You can put this solution on YOUR website!
+x%2F3=4%28x%2B1%29+ clear the left side denominator by multipying both sides by 3
3x%2F3+=+3%2A4%28x%2B1%29
x+=+12%28x%2B1%29+ expand the right side
x+=+12x+%2B+12 collect like terms (subtract 12x from both sides)
x+-+12x+=+12x+%2B+12+-+12x+
-11x+=+12 isolate x by dividing boths sides by -11
x+=+-12%2F11
Now verify the answer by pluggin your solution into the original equation
-12%2F33+=+4%28-12%2F11+%2B+11%2F11%29
-12%2F33+=+4%28-1%2F11%29
-4%2F11+=+-4%2F11 which is true so the naswer is correct

I am trying to solve an equation with a rational expression and I am having great struggles.
the question is
x/3=4(x+1)
-----------
Multiply by 3
x = 12(x+1)
expand the right side
x = 12x + 12
subtract 12x from both sides
-11x = 12
divide by -11
x = -12/11
