Question 190373: can you please help me?
Solve the equation 5%2Fx-5=6%2Fxby graphing. Find the solution algebraically to verify your graph. Are there any values for x that are not found in the domain? In other words, are there any values for x that make the equation undefined? What are they?

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Right off you can see that x=0 is not in the domain (division by 0)
:
Arrange the equation in the general form:
y = 5%2Fx - 6%2Fx - 5
y = -1%2Fx - 5
:
Plot the graph, skipping x = 0
x | y
-------
-4 |-4.75
-2 |-4.5
-1 |-4
+1 |-6
+2 |-5.5
+4 |-5.25
:
Looks like this there should be a gap where x=0
:
+graph%28+300%2C+200%2C+-4%2C+4%2C+-10%2C+6%2C+%28-1%2Fx%29-5%29+
:
"Find the solution algebraically to verify your graph."
-1%2Fx - 5 = 0
-1%2Fx = +5
Multiply both sides by x
-1 = 5x
x = -1%2F5 is the solution, (the x intercept on the graph)
