You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Let A= the cost of renting car from agency A
Let B= the cost of renting car from agency B
Let m= miles driven
Let d= number of days rented
Given:
(1) A+=+.2m+%2B+40d
(2) B+=+.16m+%2B+51d
d+=+4 days
------------------------
(1) A+=+.2m+%2B+40%2A4
(1) A+=+.2m+%2B+160
and
(2) B+=+.16m+%2B+51%2A4
(2) B+=+.16m+%2B+204
How many miles would Adam have to drive to make
car rental agency B a better bargain?
At what milage are the costs the same? (A = B)
.2m+%2B+160+=+.16m+%2B+204
.04m+=+44
m+=+1100 mi
If he drives more than 1100 miles, B is a better bargain
