You can put this solution on YOUR website!
I'm assuming that "d" is a digit (and not being multiplied) and "d" is a number from 0 to 9.

Note: the notation 8 | 88,888,82d reads "8 divides 88,888,82d" or in other words "8 is a factor of 88,888,82d" or "88,888,82d is a multiple of 8"

Now remember, the divisibility rule for 8 is: A number is divisible by 8 if the last 3 digits are divisible by 8.

For example, the number 512 is divisible by 8 since 512%2F8=64. So the number 1,212,512 is also divisible by 8 (since the last 3 digits are divisible by 8)

So all we need to look at is the last 3 digits of 88,888,82d to get 82d

Now we need to see which values of "d" will make 82d divide into 8. This means that we just need to check if the following numbers divide into 8:
820, 821, 822, 823, 824, 825, 826, 827, 828, and 829

You don't need to check any other numbers (since we've exhausted all of the possibilities of "d").

One of these numbers (and only one) divide into 8. Once you find that number, simply take the last digit and call it "d"

Ex: let's say that the answer is 828 (it's not, but let's say so). So 82d=828 which means that d=8
