Question 189059: Hey
Solving this and find the interval notation, I have one question.
I5-8xI>11 (5-8x is written as an absolute value)
ALSO
I2x-7I<=9 (The 2x-7 is also absolute value)
When solving it and leaving absolute value out, does 2x-7 and 5-8x change to 2x+7 since everything coming from absolute value is positive?

You can put this solution on YOUR website! I have one question.
I5-8xI>11 (5-8x is written as an absolute value)
|5-8x| > 11
-----------
1st: Solve the equality
5-8x = 11 or 5-8x = -11
x = -3/4 or x = 2
2nd: Plot those non-values on a number line.
3rd: Test check points in the resulting three intervals in the INEQUALITY:
Let x = -1: |5+8|>11 true ; so solutions in (-inf,-3/4)
Let x = 0 : |5-0|>11 false
Let x = 3 ; |5-24|>11 true; so solutions in (2,+inf)
-----------------
Final answer: (-inf,-3/4) or (2,+inf)
===============================================================
ALSO
I2x-7I<=9 (The 2x-7 is also absolute value)
Follow the same process as above.
