You can put this solution on YOUR website! Bill can paint a room in 8 hours. Working together with Ed, they can paint the room in 6 hours. How long would t take ed to paint the room by himself?
----------------
Ed takes t hours.
Bill paints 1/8 rooms per hour
Ed paints 1/t rooms per hour
ED + Bill paint 1/8 + 1/t rooms per hour
1/8 + 1/t = 1/6
1/t = 1/6 - 1/8 = 4/24 - 3/24
1/t = 1/24
t = 24 hours. Ed is slow.
