I think you meant:
[3/2+(3/4x+y)][3/2-(3/4x+y)]
= 9/4 - ((3x/4)+y)^2
= 9/4 - (9x^2/16 + 3xy/2 + y^2)
= 9/4 - 9x^2/16 - 3xy/2 - y^2
