You can put this solution on YOUR website! Length of a Line Segment
12. Use the length formula to verify that C(-5, -1) is the midpoint of the line segment joining A(-2, 5) and B(-8, -7).
-----------------
To find the midpoint of a line segment the easiest and quickest way, find the average of x and y separately.
for A(-2, 5) and B(-8, -7):
xmid = (-2 + -8)/2 = -5
ymid = (-7 + 5)/2 = 11
midpoint = (-5,-1)
There's no reason to find the length if it's not asked for.
