-------------------------
5/(x-2) + 6 = 5/(x-2) + 6*(x-2)/x-2) Ok so far?
= 5/(x-2) + (6x-12)/(x-2)
= (5 + 6x-12)/(x-2)
= (6x-7)/(x-2)
-----------
How did you get 6x+3 ?

This is the point where you may have gone wrong. I think you might have written:

Which is incorrect because the 6 has to distribute across the (x - 2)

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Starting with:
5%2F%28x-2%29+%2B+6 Multiply the second term (6) by %28x-2%29%2F%28x-2%29 to get both terms over the common denominator of (x-2).
5%2F%28x-2%29+%2B+6%28x-2%29%2F%28x-2%29 Now add the two fractions.
%285%2B6%28x-2%29%29%2F%28x-2%29 Simplify the numerator.
%285%2B6x-12%29%2F%28x-2%29
