: please help me to solve this problem in geometry
state condition for parallelness or prpendicularity of two lines determine weather the graph of the equation are parallel,perpendicular or neither?
1. y+3=6x
-6x-y=2
2. y=-4x+3
5y+10x=20
3. y=2x+7
5y+10x=20
4.-3x+y=4
3x-y=-6
5. 6y-x=-12
1/6x+y=3
6. x+y=6
4y-4x=12
7. y=-x+8
x-y=-1
8. 6x+y=-4
6x-y=-1
9. y=-x+8
x-y=-1
i need answer before our class report on monday

You can put this solution on YOUR website! please help me to solve this problem in geometry
state condition for parallelness or prpendicularity of two lines determine weather the graph of the equation are parallel,perpendicular or neither?
-----------------------
Lines are parallel if they have the same slope.
They are perpendicular when the slopes are the negative inverses, eg,
3 and -1/3, or 1 and -1.
-------------------------
1. y+3=6x --> y = 6x-3
-6x-y=2
Sub for y into the 2nd eqn
-6x -(6x-3) = 2
-12x + 3 = 2
-12x = -1
x = 1/12
----------
y = 6x-3
y = -5/2
-----------
2. y=-4x+3
5y+10x=20
Do this one in the same way as #1.
3. y=2x+7
5y+10x=20
This one too.
4.
-3x+y=4
3x-y=-6
--------- Add these 2 eqns
0x+0y = -2
This has no solution. If you graph it, you'll see the lines are parallel.
You can get (free) software at www.padowan.dk.com/graph/ to do these.
--------------
5. 6y-x=-12
1/6x+y=3 --> x+6y = 18
Do as in #1
6. x+y=6
4y-4x=12
7. y=-x+8
x-y=-1
8. 6x+y=-4
6x-y=-1
9. y=-x+8
x-y=-1
