: Im having trouble finding the x-intercepts and y-intercepts of the following equation: f(x)= (x-5)^3(x+4)^2 This question is from textbook
You can put this solution on YOUR website! find the x-intercepts and y-intercepts of the following equation:
f(x)= (x-5)^3(x+4)^2
------------------------
x-intercepts:
Let y = 0 and solve for "x".
(x-5)^3(x+4)^2 = 0
x = 5 with multiplicy 3 ; x = -4 with multiplicity 2
==========================================================
y-intercepts:
Let x = 0 and solve for "y".
f(0)= (-5)^3(+4)^2 = (-5)^3*(4)^2 = -2000
