Question 186823: Lenore drove 200km. For the first 100km of the trip, she drove at a speed of 40 km/h. For the second half of the trip, she traveled at a speed of 60 km/h. What was the average speed of the entire trip?
I know that the average speed is defined as total distance divided by total time:
R=D/T but I am having no luck setting up the problem.

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
THE MEAN = [40km/h + 60km/h]/2 speeds = average speed

40 + 60/2 = 100/2 = 50km per hour.
