This problem is a matter of trial and error. Start with the adult tickets. This is how I did it and it may or may not work for you because it is time consuming.
I started with 120 adult tickets sold.
120 * 3.50
Keep going until you find one that works. In this case I found out that there were 135 adult tickets sold and 186 student tickets.
135 * 3.50 = 472.50
186 * 2.50 = 465.00
I multiplied 135 by 3.50 and got that answer then subtracted 135 from the total of 321 and multiplied that by 2.50. I then added the 2 totals together and came out with the total of $937.50.
