where n is the number of years since 1990 (Health Care Financing Administration, www. hcfa.gov).
a.)Find and interpret the C-intercept for the line
Let n = 0 and solve for C
C(0) = 2.85*0 + 30.52
C(0) = 30.52
Interpret: In 1990 the cost for dental services, in billions of dollars,
was 30.52 billion.

C(n) = 2.85n + 30.52
b.)Find and interpret the n-intercept for the line
Let C(n) = 0 and solve for "n":
2.85n + 30.52 = 0
2.85n = -30.52
n = 30.52/2.85 = -10.71
Interpret: In the year 1990-10.71 or 1979 the cost for dental services
was zero.
