Question 185272: please help. i have a test tomorrow.
1. A tower that is 65 m high makes an obtuse angle with the ground. The vertical distance from the top of the tower to the ground is 59 m. What obtuse angle does the tower make with the ground, to the nearest hundredth of a radian?
thank you very much Answer by feliz1965(151) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! I think you meant to type the horizontal distance not vertical distance.
The tower is 65 m high.
Now, 59 m away, the tower makes an angle that I will call x.
We can use the tangent function to find the angle measure.
tan(x) = 65/59
DO THIS ON YOUR CALCULATOR:
a-divided 65 by 59
b-press the tangent inverse key because you are searching for an angle
c-round your decimal answer to the nearest hundredths
Can you take it from here?
