You can put this solution on YOUR website!

You aren't explaining what you need to do with this expression, unless it is actually an equation and you mistyped "+" between the parentheses when you meant "=". That is to say you meant:

It also isn't clear whether you meant or

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
(-4x+5)+(2xsquared +1/2x-12)
-4x+5+2x^2+x/2-12
2x^2-3.5x-7
Using the quadratic equation x+=+%28-b+%2B-+sqrt%28+b%5E2-4%2Aa%2Ac+%29%29%2F%282%2Aa%29+ we get:
x=(3.5+-sqrt[-3.5^2-4*2*-7])/2*2
x=(3.5+-sqrt[12.25+56])/4
x=(3.5+-sqrt68.25)/4
x=(3.5+-8.26136)/4
x=(3.5+8.26136)/4
x=11.76136/4
x=2.94 ans.
x=(3.5-8.26136)/4
x=-4.76136/4
x=-1.19 ans.
