"The width is 3m more than half the length of the pool." ----> W=(1/2)L+3 ----> 2W=L+6

96=2L+2W

96=2L+(L+6)

96=3L+6

90=3L

L=30


W=(1/2)L+3

W=(1/2)(30)+3

W=15+3

W=18

Ans: width=18, length=30
