You can put this solution on YOUR website!
The height of Kegan Falls in Japan is 11/8ths the height of Radiar Falls in Wales. The sum of the heights of these two waterfalls is 570ft. Find the height of each.
-----------------------------
Let the height of Radiar Falls be "x" ft.
Then the height of Kegan Falls is (11/8)x ft.
-----------------------------
Equation:
R. Falls ht. + K. Falls = 570 ft
x + (11/8)x = 570 ft
(19/8)x = 570
x = (8/19)*570
x = 240 ft. (height of Radiar Falls)
570 - 240 = 330 ft. (height of Kegan Falls)
