You can put this solution on YOUR website!
let c = no of acres of corn and w = no of acres of wheat
using the total acres, we get
c +w =500 or w = 500-c (A)
using the cost of cultivation, we get
42c +30w = 18600
substitute the value of w from equation A
42c + 30(500-c) = 18600
42c +15000 -30c =18600
12c = 18600-15000 = 3600
c = 3600/12 = 300 acres
and use this in A , w = 500 -c = 500 -300 = 200 acres
so answer is 300 acres of corn and 200 acres of wheat

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Let x= the acres of corn he should plant
Then 500+-+x = acres of wheat he will plant
The cost of cultivating x acres of corn is
42x
Yhe cost of cultivating 500+-+x acres of wheat is
30%2A%28500+-+x%29
------------------
If he uses the whole budget and all the land, his cost is
42x+%2B+30%2A%28500+-+x%29+=+18600
42x+%2B+15000+-+30x+=+18600
12x+=+3600
x+=+300
500+-+x+=+200
300 acres should be planted in corn, and
200 acres should be planted in wheat
