You can put this solution on YOUR website!
How many liters of a 60% alcohol solution should be mixed with 30 liters of a 40% solution in order to get a 55% solution?
-------------------------
Equation:
active + active = active
0.60x + 0.40*30 = 0.55(x+30)
Multiply thru by 100 to get:
60x + 40*30 = 55x + 55*30
5x = 15*30
x = 90 liters (amt. of 60% solution required for the mixture)
