You can put this solution on YOUR website! The general form of any exponential equation is . If , then as "x" increases, then "y" increases at an exponential rate. If , then as "x" increases, then "y" decreases at an exponential rate (ie it exponentially decays).
So in the first equation , this tells us that the first equation represents exponential growth.
On the other hand, in the second equation, because , this means that the second equation represents exponential decay.
