Question 18321: In triangle ABC, AB is 9cm shorter than AC, while BC is 3 cm longer than AC. If the perimeter os ABC is 48cm, what are the lengths of the three sides? Let x represent AC.
This question is similiar to question #14038 but I couldn't get the formula to work for me.

You can put this solution on YOUR website! In triangle ABC, AB is 9cm shorter than AC, while BC is 3 cm longer than AC. If the perimeter os ABC is 48cm, what are the lengths of the three sides? Let x represent AC.
let AC=x
9 cm shorter than AC =x-9=AB
3 cm longer than AC =x+3=BC
perimeter=AC+AB+BC=x+x-9+x+3=48
3x-6=48
3x=48+6=54
x=54/3=18
so 3 sides are 18,18-9=9,18+3=21
